Repeated plea for more firefighters in Wiltshire
The fire service urgently needs help to be able to respond to 999 calls
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue has renewed its appeal for more on-call firefighters.
They're encouraging more people to: "Make a difference in your community - help to protect it."
They are still recruiting for on-call firefighters and say if you are interested or think you have what it takes, apply now.

On-call firefighters are paid professionals
They do the same work as wholetime firefighters
On-call firefighters are not based at a fire station but usually have other jobs and commitments and respond to emergencies only when their alerter goes off

On-call firefighters are contracted for various hours of cover per week. Between them, each fire station team will provides cover for weekdays, evenings, nights and weekends.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service relies on its on-call firefighters. Across the whole area 46 of the local 50 fire stations have on-call sections. Most have only got on-call staff keeping communities safe.
Earlier this month the Tisbury Fire Station tweeted a message indicating they could have done with your helped on a day they were unable to respond to a chimney fire in Hindon. Luckily Mere Fire Station attended.
Tisbury is one of the local fire stations that's been struggling desperately for a long time now to recruit on-call firefighters.
