Wiltshire Police is continuing it's recruitment drive with the addition of 14 new student officers to the Force in January.

They were welcomed to the Force at the most recent attestation in Devizes, where they were worn in by Justice of the Peace, Jane Durrant.

During the ceremony, the recruits took The Oath by which police constables swear to “serve the King in the office of constable, with fairness, integrity, diligence and impartiality, upholding fundamental human rights and according equal respect to all people."

Chief Superintendent Phil Staynings said: “This is a pivotal moment for the new constables as they take the next step in the road to becoming a warranted police officer.

“These 14 people have chosen to serve their communities and uphold the law and take on all the challenges that come with it.

“I wish them all the best of luck with their training and look forward to working with them in the future.”

Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Wilkinson was also on hand to welcome the group, speaking to them about life in service and the different career paths within Wiltshire Police.

The cohort will new begin a 23-week training course.
