Ten days after a devastating blaze at a Wiltshire primary school pupils will return today (27th Mon)

Woodborough C of E suffered extensive damage in a fire on Friday 17th of September

Two classrooms and a staff room were destroyed in the blaze which saw 70 fire fighters takle the flames at its height.

Considerable teaching resources were also lost and the school's electrical system was badly damaged.

Power has now been restored to the areas unaffected by the blaze and a building surveyor has given the all clear for those classrooms to be used.

Work on the schools IT system is still ongoing and some parts of the building will also need to be refloored.

Most children will go back to learning as normal but some pupils will work in the school hall and old library.

Pupils will walk the short distance to Woodborough Social Club to have their lunch.

Plans for the reopening of the School were posted online.

Head Sarah Brewis said the staff were looking forward to having everyone back together:

"We are really looking forward to welcoming the children back to school and having everyone back together again. We would like to thank everyone once again for the amazing support that has been shared with us this week and ask you for your continued patience and understanding as we move through the next phase of recovery."

Following investigations Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue have concluded the blaze started accidentally in the school roof which had been undergoing building works.

Meanwhile the PTA's official fundraising page to help rebuild the school has now topped £17,000 pounds.
