Highbridge hosts the 'Busk-A-Thon'

It's part of a drive to promote local shops and businesses.

The Highbridge Busk-A-Thon takes place today, which is part of a project to boost footfall across town and village centres in Sedgemoor. The day is the latest in a fun-filled programme of different events, at different locations, to remind residents and visitors about the diverse nature of shops and businesses in the district's towns and villages.

The day been paid for using the Government's 'Welcome Back Fund ' and sees activities planned throughout the day. Performers include the Bristol String Quartet, North Somerset Samba, The Beach'd Buoys, Moss Flower Band and Holly Simpson.

Entertainers are being invited to also just turn up and told they'll be given a place to perform. The Busk-A-Thon gets underway at 11am.
