No Glastonbury decision until the New Year, confirms organiser

Newspaper reports - and some festival insiders - have suggested that behind-the-scenes teams had already been told the 2021 event was being cancelled as a result of the pandemic.

But the official festival communications team are saying that isn’t the case.

Today festival organiser Emily Eavis took to social media with the words ‘not cancelled yet’.

While not the most emphatic show of confidence she later also confirmed a decision will be announced in the New Year.

Last year festival founder Michael Eavis suggested they couldn’t afford to cancel a second festival in a row.

Emily Eavis has since clarified their position - saying that would only apply if they had to make a relatively late decision as happened this year.
