Yeovil Town FC have officially lifted the Vanarama National League South trophy - just days after their promotion was confirmed.

On Thursday night, Yeovil Town took on Truro City - and all they needed to win the league, and return straight back into the National League was a draw.

They thrashed Truro 2-0 - something the boss Mark Cooper said he wanted to replicate at Huish Park this weekend, hosting a 'party in the park' after their tie against Dartford.

Boss Mark Cooper said on Thursday night: "I'm delighted. That was the only outcome after last year - it was so important that we bounced back.

"The owner has been so great, and has given us the opportunity to sign some good players and to rebuild the club.

"I'm so pleased for the players and the staff, and the fans were top drawer - it means the world.

"I thought we played really well last Saturday at home, but when it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.

"Tonight, we risked a couple with injuries - but our players were in control of the game, and these nights are what football's all about.

"I want to win on Saturday now, in front of a packed Huish Park - and then we can have a party."
