Car crashes through window of hairdressers

The owner of a hairdressers in Bournemouth is recovering after being hit by a car which crashed through the front of the salon.

The car ploughed into The Hair Studio on Ringwood Road in West Howe on Wednesday morning.

Owner Mandy Gates said: "Luckily no broken bones, but I took the impact of the front of the car and the shop window falling.

"I am really, really bruised around the thighs and hips and have quite a few deep lacerations to my thighs, elbows and feet."

Writing on Facebook, Mandy praised the emergency services for helping her and customers at the salon following the crash.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.48am on Wednesday to a report that a car had collided with a shop window on Ringwood Road in Bournemouth.

"Officers attended the scene with the fire and ambulance services.

"One person sustained a spinal injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Two other people were treated at the scene."
