Four boys arrested after attack on couple and their dog

It happened in Bourne Valley Park in Poole earlier this month

Police investigating a reported assault on two people and their dog in Poole have arrested four teenage boys.

The incident occurred at around 6pm on September 4th in Bourne Valley Park, near to Evering Avenue.

Dorset Police said the couple were were walking with their eight-month-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier when a group of teenagers grabbed and kicked the puppy, causing swelling to its eye.

The dog owners were then themselves reportedly assaulted after they approached the group.

Three boys from Poole – aged 12, 14 and 16 – and a 16-year-old Bournemouth boy were arrested on suspicion of assault and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

The three boys from Poole were also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

They have all been released under investigation while the investigation continues.
