'Naomi and Jack's Big Mexican Night In' has been inspired by some of the young adults who are supported by Jacksplace.

They regularly enjoy a game of 'taco jousting' at the hospice, which is accessible to everyone there - including those using wheelchairs and with limited movement.

The new virtual event will see supporters sign up for an evening in with a Mexican theme, and a chance to have a go at taco jousting for yourself!

The charity's calling on supporters to sign up for a night of Mexican fun!

Tickets for the event are £5, and will see people being posted a Mexican flavours seasoning mix to make your own snacks, a taco jousting game kit, party straws, a Tequila cocktail recipe and a link to join the virtual event at home.

The online entertainment will include cooking and cocktail sessions and live music from a mariachi band, the Beat Banditos.

The evening's planned for Thursday 26th November from 7.30pm.

The night will include tips on how to make your own Mexican cocktails

Lucy Gray, Regional Fundraiser for Naomi House & Jacksplace said:

"At a time when we can't have any visitors to the hospices, we wanted to bring a part of the hospices to our supporters at their homes, that's why we are so delighted to host the event from the hospices. We are so pleased to be able to add this special event to our fundraising calendar this year and hope to spread some fun at this strange time and raise some much needed funds.

"The event presents an opportunity to fill an evening in lockdown and experience good food, great music and games safely from home. I urge people to sign up soon, for what promises to be a great night!"

This is the charity's first ticketed virtual event, as they look for alternative ways of getting supporters involved and raise some income during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Hosting an event on Zoom, means we can sell loads of tickets without having to worry about social distancing or work towards smaller amount of attendees, so we hope to have as many people join in as possible. Shake your maracas, don your sombreros and get your fiesta vibe on for 'Naomi & Jack's Big Mexican Night In' with fun for all the family."

Tickets for the event are available through the Naomi House website, with the packs sent out to those who have signed up online.

The last tickets will be available on Monday 23rd November, to give enough for the kits to arrive through the post.
