The annual Santa Fun Run is usually held each year on the streets of Winchester, but the Covid-19 pandemic means the 5K can't go ahead.

Instead, the charity's holding it virtually, and they're hoping that could mean lots more people are able to take part in their local area, while following Government social distancing guidelines.

All we're asked to do is complete a 5 kilometre route, whether that's walking, running, skipping, hopping or dancing, at some point during December, raising a minimum of £25 for Naomi House and Jacksplace.

Everyone registered will be sent their own Santa suit and beard to get into the festive spirit.

Charlotte Patrick, Events Fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace said:

"Although we're really disappointed that our normal event can't take place in Winchester, we're so excited to be able to encourage people to join in the fun in their local areas. This event is for all ages and we can't wait to see the photos of everyone dressed up in their Santa suits - mums, dads, children, grandparents, work colleagues.

"Even though everyone has to be mindful of government guidelines due to the pandemic, they can still have loads of fun and laughs, whilst supporting local children and young adults with serious illnesses."

After completing the challenge, the charity will also send out medals to celebrate the Santa's achievements.

Anyone's welcome to get into the Christmas spirit to support the cause!

Naomi House and Jacksplace has faced a tough year, as a result of the pandemic.

Many of their fundraising events had to be cancelled, and their charity shops have also been closed for much of the pandemic.

Their hospices for children and young adults with life limiting conditions have remained open though, to support families and provide some expert respite care.
