Portsmouth Football Club will celebrate a double title triumph with a special event on Southsea Common on Sunday.

A 3-2 win over Barnsley on 16 April saw the men claim the League One silverware, while the women are champions of the National League Southern Premier Division.

Pompey are returning to the Championship for the first time since 2012.

The event on Southsea Common will see fans, club officials and players from the men’s and women’s teams come together to mark a memorable campaign.

Pompey chief executive Andrew Cullen said: "We are looking forward to seeing plenty of supporters on Southsea Common for what is sure to be an unforgettable afternoon.

"It provides a fantastic opportunity to celebrate what has been an amazing season for both the men’s and women’s teams.

"The event also allows us to thank our outstanding supporters for the superb backing they have provided to our players and to us all.

"We are extremely grateful to Portsmouth City Council, the police and the emergency services for their support of the event."

The event will begin at 1.00pm with players expected on stage from 2.00pm.
