UPDATE: Two men suffer stab wounds in Boscombe incident

Two men have suffered stab wounds, and been taken to hospital, following an incident in Boscombe last night (Monday 29th January).

Dorset Police tell us a fight broke out in Christchurch Road just before 9.00pm.

Two men – aged in their 20s and 30s from Bournemouth and Poole – sustained stab wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are described as serious, but not life-threatening.

Two 21-year-old men from Bournemouth have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Two further men, aged 22 and 24 and also from Bournemouth, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bell, of BCP CID, said:

“Our investigation is in the early stages and following initial enquiries, we believe this was a targeted incident involving people who are known to each other and there was no wider threat to the public.

“We have conducted fast-time CCTV and forensic enquiries in the area, but we are also very keen to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed what happened or have information to assist our enquiries.

“A cordon remains in place and there will be an increased police presence while the investigation continues and we would like to thank the public for their patience while enquiries are conducted in the area.

“Officers from local neighbourhood policing teams can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
