After bosses urged the public to apply for the brand new series of Hunted, the Channel 4 show returned for its sixth series in May 2022. Find out when the show aired, how to apply for the next season and when the show will be returning for series seven.

When did Hunted series six air?

The hit show, which first launched back in 2015, returned to our screens for the sixth series with a double bill on Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd May 2022.

The news was announced on social media, with the official Hunted account writing: '🚨The hunt is officially ON! BRAND NEW #Hunted starts with a double bill on Sunday 22nd & Monday 23rd May at 9pm on @channel4 🚨'.

Unlike previous series, Hunted series six involved a huge twist, which saw the fugitives attempt to escape from the Isle of Wight whilst under the surveillance from a hunter helicopter which is streaming footage back to Hunted HQ.

The fugitives were dropped off on the island with just a change of clothes and a small amount of cash, as they attempted to get back to the mainland and escape the hunters in order to win the prize of £100,000.

As she did on Celebrity Hunted, the expert teams of hunters was led by Assistant Chief Constable of Cleveland Police Lisa Theaker.

Can I still apply for Hunted?

Bosses were on the lookout for series seven contestants in early 2022, however applications are now closed, ending in May 2023.

The website stated: 'We're looking for ordinary people to go on the run and try to outsmart the Hunters in one of the most watched nations on Earth. If you had to disappear tomorrow, for whatever reason - with some of the world's best investigators looking for you, and some of the most cutting edge technology tracking you, could you avoid capture?'.

Applications closed on Friday 20th May, but you can keep up to date here with how and when to apply for the next season.
