As Christmas party season is almost upon us we have put together eight fantastic ideas for Christmas parties, ranging from the fun to the weird.

Let us know how you get on!

1. Ugly Christmas jumper party

We've all see the ugly Christmas jumpers that get pulled out year after year, so why not get them all in one place? You could even have a competition for the worst or most inappropriate Christmas jumper.

What to wear: Christmas jumpers, the uglier the better!

2. Movie marathon

We all love a good Christmas film, so why not gather all your friends together and watch a few festive films?

What to wear: Anything you like, but film geek is good.

3. Masquerade ball

Fancy something a bit different? A masquerade ball might be just what you're looking for. It will require some effort from the people attending and the host to pull it off, but it could mean your party is the talking point for years to come.

What to wear: Definitely a mask, but for the full effect make sure you have a costume to go with it. For a glam event like this why not suggest the men wear tuxes and the girls wear long ball gowns? Or for something more informal just give it a theme such as glitz and glamour.

4. Christmas Carol karaoke

What better way to get the party started than by warming up the karaoke machine, but this time just playing the Christmas classics. It doesn't have to be Christmas carols, you can also throw in some of your favourite Christmas songs including Wham! and Mariah Carey. This is bound to get even the quietest people joining in with the chorus.

What to wear: Anything you like.

5. Winter wonderland

If you're not getting the white Christmas outside bring it inside! Depending on your space and budget you can hire some fantastic props for your party such as winter chalets and fake snow. It doesn't always have to be cold even if it looks it.

What to wear: Give your clothes a winter twist, but unless you're going for the authentic real snow, you might not want to walk around with the your thick coat on all night.

Christmas Markets

6. Gift exchange

Giving presents is always fun so why not make it the theme of your party? It doesn't have to be expensive gifts, you could set the upper limit at £5 and do a Secret Santa type present swap.

What to wear: Anything you like, why not give your party a dress code?
