Barnsley man jailed for money laundering and cocaine supply
A man's starting more than 13 years in jail after £120,000 and class A drugs were found by police searches last summer.

A man from Barnsley has been jailed for 13-and-a-half years for possession and supply of cocaine and money laundering.
Christopher Hewitt, 60, of Park Road, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday 21 March. He was charged with money laundering and possession with intent to supply cocaine. He pleaded guilty to all the offences against him.
It's after an investigation by the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, on 27 July last year, where Hewitt was stopped by police in a car on Doncaster Road, Barnsley.
The car was searched and around £50,000 in cash was recovered from the front passenger footwell of the car.
A further search of a property in Barnsley resulted in the recovery of 5 kilos of cocaine, approximately £70,000 in cash, a cash counter and drugs paraphernalia.
On Friday 22 March he was sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison for possession with intent to supply cocaine and then he was given an additional 6 months’ sentence for money laundering offences which will run concurrently.
Detective Chief Inspector Al Burns of the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, said: “We are pleased with the sentence that has been handed down to Hewitt and he is now behind bars for his crimes.
“Drugs can cause significant harm to people’s health and often responsible for increase in crime in local communities. I hope this will serve as a deterrent to people thinking of dealing drugs in our communities.
“Our officers are committed to targeting and disrupting organised crime throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region.”
