20 year old Maksymilian Jagielski from Newcastle-under-Lyme has been sentenced to six-years-and-six-months behind bars at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. He previously admitted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.

In July last year (2023), Jagielski stabbed the victim multiple times after they met near Abbey Road. He ran away after doing it, leaving the victim, a man in his 20s, injured in the street.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service treated the victim at the scene and took him to hospital for treatment. Thankfully, he recovered from his injuries.

Detective Inspector Nathan Hough, from CID, said:

“We want to be clear that violence will not be tolerated in Staffordshire and we will work around the clock to pursue those responsible and support those affected by violent crime.

I’d like to recognise the vital role that local people played in securing this conviction, too, as they were instrumental in coming forward and telling us what happened when we started our investigation last year.

“With their help, we’ve been able to take another dangerous offender off our streets and deliver justice for the victim.”
