Plans are "full steam ahead" to reinstate Stoke-on-Trent's Etruria train station - with a bid for funding being submitted to the government.

Councils, charities, and businesses such as Bet365 are all backing the idea.

The MP for Stoke Central - Jo Gideon - says the new station will make a big difference:

The MP’s now calling on people to sign a petition to show their support:

“The Government have recognised that there is indeed a case to look at re-opening Etruria. It is now important that the Government know how local people feel about the chance of securing significant local rail investment from the national fund, and what impact you think a re-opened Etruria station would have for you and the opportunities it might bring for the local community.”

If you wish to sign the petition, you can find it on Jo Gideon’s website at www.jogideon.org/campaigns/re-open-etruria-station.
