Man charged with up to £500,000 worth of cars stolen across the West Mids
Police have charged an 18-year-old in connection with a number of car thefts, which took place across the Black Country and Staffordshire
A man has been charged by West Midlands Police following nearly two dozen burglaries, which were carried out across the Black Country and Staffordshire earlier this year.
Officers say 18-year-old Rio Halls from Bloxwich stole up to half a million pounds worth of vehicles between last November and this September.
He has now been charged with 21 car key burglaries, two offences of vehicle theft and four thefts from a motor vehicle across Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Staffordshire.
He appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court yesterday (November 4).
In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "Vehicle crime remains a priority for us as we do not underestimate the inconvenience and distress having a car stolen causes.
"Working closely with neighbouring forces and partners, we have a range of tactics at our disposal to tackle vehicle crime offenders, particularly those who commit crimes on a large scale."
