More pop-up Covid vaccination clinics to open in Cheshire
They're for anyone over 40 who's still not had their first dose
More pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be available in Cheshire this week - giving people across the county easier access to vaccines.
So far in the North West more than 50% of adults have been fully vaccinated including more than 1 million people in Cheshire and Merseyside.
The pop-up clinics, which include a vaccine bus owned by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and operated by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP), will continue from Monday, June 14th.
• The clinics give anyone over the age of 40 the opportunity to get their first dose.
• There is no need to book, residents can simply walk-in.
• All you need to provide is your date of birth, address and an email/phone number
The pop-up clinics will be in the following locations:
Cheshire West (all clinics 10am-4pm)
• Monday 14 June - Cheviot Street Car Park, Winsford, CW7 1QS
• Tuesday 15 June - Plas Dinas Building, Blacon Point Road, Chester, CH1 5SN
• Wednesday 16 June - Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre, Alnwick Drive, Ellesmere Port, CH65 9HE
• Thursday 17 June - Hoole Community Centre, Westminster Road, Chester, CH2 3AP
• Friday 18 June - Northwich Memorial Court, Northwich, CW9 5QJ
Cheshire East (all clinics 10am-4pm)
• Tuesday 15 June- Asda Car Park, Victoria Centre, Crewe, CW1 2PT
• Thursday 17 June- Delamere Street, Crewe, CW1 2ER
Sheena Cumiskey, Chief Executive, CWP, said: "Partners from across Cheshire have made these pop-up clinics possible, and these clinics give us the ability to reach people in the areas they live, giving them a better access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
"It’s important that when people get the opportunity to have the vaccine to not hesitate and attend one of our clinics, it’s the best way to protect yourself, your family and friends."
Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Councillor Louise Gittins, said: "I urge everyone over the age of 40 who has not yet had a vaccine to take advantage of the pop-up clinic as soon as you get the chance.
"The vaccinations are free, safe and by attending a roving clinic you don’t even need an appointment."
Leader of Cheshire East Council, Councillor Sam Corcoran, said: "Cheshire’s vaccination programme has been a great success so far. However, we are now seeing increasing infection rates in Cheshire East and we need to work together locally to beat this. These new clinics provide another option for eligible people to vaccinated easily and conveniently. There’s really no reason to delay getting your jab."
