Cheshire Police teams received a report of a missing 17-year-old from an address in Crewe yesterday evening.

Officers looking for the teenager were assisted by a drone, dog unit, specialist search officers, police helicopter, Cheshire Fire and Rescue and paramedics.

At 3.24am this morning, a young male was found in a brook in Queens Park. Officers pulled him from the water and commenced CPR, however he was sadly pronounced dead at hospital.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and officers are investigating the circumstances to compile a file for the coroner. Next of kin have been informed.
