Cash stolen during armed robbery at Claydon shop

Police are trying to track down a man involved in an armed robbery in Claydon yesterday (August 25).

It happened between 4:15pm and 4:35pm at the Post Office and One Stop on Ipswich Road.

The man, carrying a crowbar, entered the store and demanded money from a member of staff.

He then jumped over the counter and took cash from the till.

He escaped through the front door of the store, before making off in the direction of the Co-Op on Norwich Road.

The staff member was left shaken but unhurt.

The suspect is described as male, in his 40s, around 6ft tall. He was wearing a grey beanie hat, blue sweatshirt, black jeans and trainers.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
