Goldings Auctions have described it as a bargain for anyone if they are prepared to put in some hard graft and don't mind the "unusual aroma".

The end-of-terrace house in Gibbons Street, Ipswich, carries a freehold price of between £50,000 and £70,000.

It houses three double bedrooms, an entrance hall, two receptions, kitchen, lobby and bathroom, a courtyard garden and a pair of detached garages.

Auctioneer Tim Golding said: "The house was recently used as a cannabis farm. It has been cleared out by the police but there is still a lot of the detritus from its former use scattered throughout the house.

“It really does need major refurbishment, and the buyer who takes on the job will have to do the complete works, including clearing everything out."

Mr Golding added he was a little concerned the smell of the property would follow him back to the office when he first visited.

Future owners are advised they may need a supply of air freshener, as well addressing damages to the main electrics, which have been made safe.

To accommodate Covid-19 social distancing, the auction will be broadcast live on 30th September.

Viewing slots for the property can be viewed and arranged on Goldings Auctionswebsite.
