Lowestoft drug dealer jailed

A man from Lowestoft has been sentenced to three years in prison for drug dealing offences.
Callum Smith, 31, of Blackheath Road, Lowestoft, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday 19 April where he sentenced to the following:
- Being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class A drug (cocaine) – three years imprisonment.
- Being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class B drug (ketamine) – eight months imprisonment to run concurrently.
- Being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class B drug (cannabis) – eight months imprisonment to run concurrently.
Smith was arrested on 1 June 2022 by officers from the constabulary’s Scorpion team, after they had witnessed a suspected drug exchange in Dove Street in the town.
He was stopped and searched, and a small amount of cash and two mobile phones were located.
Smith was arrested on suspicion of the supply of controlled drugs and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre. During further searches two small packages of cocaine were found on Smith.
Information found on the mobile phones showed that Smith had sent bulk text messages advertising the sale of cocaine, ketamine and cannabis from the period of 25 November 2021 to 1 June 2022 and he was later charged.
