Man arrested after sexual assault in Stowmarket
Police are now questioning a 34 year old man
A man has been arrested following a sexual assault in Stowmarket early on Sunday morning.
A woman, who was walking away from the town centre centre towards Combs Ford was approached by a man on Ipswich Road at around 1:15am.
He was grabbed and then sexually assaulted. The man ran from the scene after being disturbed by an approaching car.
Last night (June 5) a 34 year old man from Stowmarket was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
He is being questioned by police in Bury St Edmunds.
Additional patrols have been in place in Stowmarket since the incident. Police continue to appeal for witnesses or information.
