Warning to remain vigilant after beach hut burglaries in Southwold
The break-ins happened overnight between Thursday 3 May and Sunday 6 May
Police are appealing for witnesses and asking members of the public to be vigilant, following a number of recent break-ins at businesses and beach huts in Southwold.
The incidents occurred overnight between Thursday 3 May and Sunday 6 May.
Three beach huts along the Promenade were broken into between Thursday 3 May and Saturday 5 May and items including fire extinguishers were stolen from inside.
Between 11pm on Saturday 5 May and 12am on Sunday 6 May, two businesses – one in North Parade and the other in North Street - were broken into, with a safe stolen from the first premises and damage caused at the second, but nothing was stolen.
Additional police patrols are taking place in the area and officers are appealing to members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
Residents & businesses are advised do all they can to keep their huts and premises secure.
