Woman in her 20s dies in crash on A12 at Stratford St Mary

Police have confirmed that a woman in her 20s has died in a crash on the A12 at Stratford St Mary.

Officers were called at 7.47pm last night (Monday 2nd August) to reports of a serious crash on the northbound carriageway, at the junction of the B1068.

Four fire crews were also called to the scene from Woodbridge, Nayland, Princes Street and Hadleigh.

They were stood down just after 10.30pm last night.

A silver Skoda Fabia was involved in a single-vehicle collision, the driver and only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Accident investigation work has been carried out and an appeal's been launched for witnesses or people with dash cam footage of the collision to come forward.

The road reopened at about 5.45am this morning (Tuesday 3rd August).
