An Aldershot drug dealer will spend nearly seven years behind bars for several drug offences.

36 year old Ryan Ford of Enterprise Way pleaded guilty to:

Conspiracy to supply of Class B controlled drug cannabis

Conspiracy to supply of Class B controlled drug ketamine

Conspiracy to supply of Class A controlled drug MDMA

Failure to comply with a Notice - S.53 RIPA 2000

An police investigation identified Ford as a user of the international criminal messaging site EncroChat.

Officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit discovered that over a two-month period in 2020, Ford had physically taken possession of at least 32.5kg of cannabis and 2kg of ketamine.

Ford was also planning to take possession of a large amount of MDMA before ceasing to communicate on the platform after it became common knowledge that the criminal messaging platform had been accessed by the police.

Ford, formerly from Woking, was arrested on 10 June 2021 at his home address in Aldershot, whereupon a search of his house also uncovered a cannabis production room in one of the bedrooms.

Further encrypted devices were found in his possession and when asked for the pass-codes for these devices he refused.

Investigating Officer, DC Earl, said:

“Ford’s arrest and conviction is another example of the tireless proactive work Surrey Police are doing every day to target drug related crime in the county.

“Drugs can have a devastating impact on the local community and this conviction shows that if you want to pursue this illegal activity, we will find you and we will bring you to justice.”
