Appeal after hate crime in Godalming

Surrey Police are looking for the victim of the incident that took place in Milford, Godalming on the 22nd of November

Surrey Police believe the incident happened in the Tesco Express car park on Portsmouth Road at around 6.15pm.

They said: "A white man was seen to be shouting aggressively at another man whilst using racially abusive language. The man then began shouting at a woman in the car park who tried to intervene, in an attempt to intimidate her. A passenger in the suspect’s van also tried to throw something at the woman.

"A 38-year-old man from Godalming has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order and common assault in connection with this incident. He has been released under investigation.
