A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the Upper River Wey after a rise in levels following heavy rainfall overnight.

It means flooding of roads and farmland is expected, especially in the Passfield area in Liphook.

Alton, Farnham, Bordon, Frensham, Tilford, Godalming, Guildford and Peasmarsh all affected.

Property flooding is not currently expected.

The EA says they expect river levels to remain high for the next few days, with further rainfall expected over the next 24 hours.

They are closely monitoring the situation and staff have been in the area clearing trash screens.
