A flood alert is in force for the Upper River Wey after river levels rose following several days of heavy rainfall.

The Environement Agency says while property flooding is not expected, roads and farmland are at risk of flooding, epecially in the Godalming and Passfield Mill area in Liphook.

The warning area also covers Alton, Farnham, Frensham, Tilford, Bordon, Guildford and Peasmarsh.

The EA says it is closely monitoring the situation and is clearing weed and trash screens in the affected area.
