Man charged with murder after woman's body found at Bagshot hotel

A 60 year old man has been charged with murder in connection with an ongoing murder investigation in Bagshot.

The body of a woman in her 50s was found at Pennyhill Park on the 14th of April.

James Cartwright of West Street in Axminster was charged with murder and controlling and coercive behaviour after being arrested on Friday, 19 April.

He has been remanded in police custody to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on Monday (22 April).

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Debbie Birch said:

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.

“The investigation is in the early stages and a specialist team of officers are working around the clock to follow up enquiries.”
