Police investigate possible link between recent assaults and robberies in Farnborough and Fleet

In each report a group of men approached victims demanding they hand over valuables.

Officers are asking for information after a number of reports of serious assaults and robberies in Farnborough and Fleet - which they say might be linked.

The incidents took place during October in various different locations.

Police say each report states a group of between four to eight young men approached young victims, assaulted them and demanded they hand over valuables.

FARNBOROUGH

23 October

Two 18 year old boys were in a car parked at Pinehurst car park in Farnborough Road at around 10pm when around five to seven men in dark clothing wearing gloves and face coverings came up to them.

The group threatened the pair and assaulted them, and took tobacco off them before the victims managed to drive off.

28 October

Two 17 year old boys were attacked during a robbery at around 10:30pm, while with a group of friends parked in the Sulzer roundabout car park.

Four men described as wearing grey jogging bottoms and black coats, and three of them with face coverings, threatened the group before assaulting the victims.

A phone and a wallet with bank cards were stolen.

30 October

Two men, aged 19 and 20, were assaulted and robbed between 6:15pm and 7:15pm in Ship Lane, after leaving Farnborough North station.

One was hit in the face, and the other punched and kicked, after they were approached by six to eight men, described as wearing dark clothing and face coverings.

A Gucci body warmer and black baseball cap were stolen.

FLEET

31 October

Three teenagers were assaulted in Church Crookham, at around 8pm at Peter Driver Sports Field in Bourley Road.

They were inside the five a side football cage when they were approached by approximately six to eight older boys, around 16-18 years old, described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

One of them punched a 14 year old boy causing him to lose consciousness. He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

A 13 year old boy was assaulted, but managed to run away.

Another 14 year old boy was punched in Beacon Hill Road after he was approached by the suspects, one of whom showed him a knife.

31 October

A 16 year old boy was attacked at Fleet Pond and ended needing surgery for facial injuries.

It happened between 10pm and 10.30pm, when a group of around eight youths wearing dark clothing and balaclavas approached and assaulted him.

Police have increased patrols in the areas concerned.

They are also asking for information to help identify those involved.
