Surrey's mini heatwave has come at just the right time - as six people are now allowed to meet outside.

A number of restrictions were eased yesterday (29th March) as part of Phase 2 of England's roadmap out of lockdown..

WIth temperatures set to rise today and tomorrow, we are being urged to be considerate of our surrounding countryside, with beauty spots in Surrey likely to be busier than usual.

Last year, families and friends flocked to places like Newlands Corner and Stoke Park.

But, as Ian Doyle, Guildford Borough Council's Service Delivery Director, told us, some people did not show respect for green spaces.

He says there are plenty of outdoor areas for people to enjoy, and is asking us to stick to the guidelines, and try to stay local to avoid places becoming overwhelmed.

There was lots of littering at beauty spots last year

Ian says Guildford has a lot to offer and he is thrilled restrictions have eased so people can use them:

"50 countryside sites, covering around about 700 hectares with 9 green flag parks and green spaces in the borough.

"66 playgrounds that can all be enjoyed.

"So, a lot there that people can use."

He also has this message for people wanting to enjoy the beauty spots during the lovely weather:

"Please follow the countryside code.

"Pick up your litter, we saw quite a lot of littering last year. Take it home if the bins are full, they will sometimes be because of the usage.

"Keep dogs under control and most of all be considerate of each other."
