Synergy Dance win Digital Business of the Year 2022 at Club Hub Awards
A Surrey based dance company are celebrating after winning a category at the Club Hub awards.
Synergy Dance LTD and Synergy Outreach won Digital Business of the Year 2022 after being one of five finalists for the category.
Their dance and yoga activities are being introduced into schools and leisure centres for mainstream children and adults, as well as the Special Needs & Disability community.
Synergy's SEND courses help children with learning difficulties & Autism, ADHD, ASD, Global development delay, MLD, ODD, Down Syndrome, Dyspraxia, asthma, hearing loss & Cerebral Palsy and more.
Their survey conducted in 2021 found that over 75% of their service users in Surrey said they want to exercise but were facing barriers, with lack of motivation being the biggest challenge in starting and remaining active.
Synergy Dance LTD and Synergy Outreach have services and classes in Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex.
Founder Rachael Hurton and her team introduced Synergy's online programmes during the Covid-19 lockdowns, and 94% of their users said they were happier and less anxious after classes.
Rachael told us:
"The mission and the vision behind Synergy is to make a difference and that's what's driving the team every day is to make a difference to everyone.
"I think our innovative workouts that we were doing really resonated with the communities.
"We felt during lockdown and Covid there were a lot of what we call mainstream workouts, but this diverse community, the disability community, those with special needs, had sort of been left behind.
"We wanted to be there for everyone that needed it most."
Since their launch in 2017, Synergy Dance have won many awards and Digital Business of the Year is the latest to add to that.
Rachael told us:
"The award was actually in recognition of pivoting during Covid and producing some 700 workouts for the disability and special needs community, alongside mainstream.
"We have a wide variety for all ages actually, children, teens adults and the elderly."
Synergy Dance LTD are working towards developing further and are preparing for their Dance and Yoga Festival later this year.
