Officers responded to reports that people were posing as delivery drivers and attempting to steal packages from shops in the town.
Officers received a report on Monday, and arrested three men after attending the scene.
A 24-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of theft of mail bag / postal packet and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
A 25-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of theft of mail bag / post packet.
A 29-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of theft of mail bag / postal packet.
All three men have been bailed with conditions until 16 January while our enquiries continue.
