Warning of icy conditions across Surrey and East Hampshire

A Met Office severe weather alert has been issued

After yesterday's snow across our area, a Met Office yellow alert for ice is now in place.

It went up at midnight (25 January) and is in place until 11am today.

The Met Office warns of icy conditions on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle path, as well as the risk of injury from slipping on icy surfaces.

Rail travel could also be disrupted.

Surrey and East Hampshire's five day forecast:

Monday:

A frosty start, then a dry, but cold day, often sunny. Winds will be mainly light. A widespread frost will return overnight. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Frosty, dry, bright start on Tuesday, then, rain later. Wednesday and Thursday will slowly become less cold, with periods of rain and strong winds.
