Driver has 'lucky escape' after car rolls near Billingshurst

Fire crews have said a driver had a 'lucky escape' after her car left a road near Billingshurst and rolled on Monday night (October 5th).

West Sussex Fire and Rescue serivce said crews from the town and Storrington were called to reports of a collision in Harbolets Road in West Chiltington at 8.40pm.

They arrived at the scene to find the car had left the road and collided with a low wall before overturning.

The female driver had been able to get herself out of the vehicle with the help of passers-by and did not require assistance from firefighters.

The road was closed while emergency service staff were on the scene, with the last crew leaving at 9.22pm.
