Teenage boy suffers serious injuries in hit and run collision in Eastbourne

Sussex Police have launched an investigation after a car collided with a pedestrian in the north of Eastbourne.

Officers first received reports of a collision between a car and a person shortly after midnight on Saturday (March 2nd).

When responders arrived at the scene, they found a 16-year-old boy requiring medical attention.

The victim was rushed to hospital to be looked at by medical professionals for his injuries, which have been described as "serious".

Following the incident, the car drove off after hitting the boy and is yet to be found. Investigations are now underway from Sussex Police to trace the car and identify the driver.

The force are now appealing to people in the area to get in touch with any potential information they may have that could help with their enquiries.

In particular, anyone who may have witnessed the collision take place or have relevant footage from dashcams at the time and location of the incident is of particular interest to investigators.
