Rail lines through West Sussex have been blocked on Tuesday afternoon (January 26th) after a person was hit by a train close to Billingshurst station.

Lines have been closed between Horsham and Barnham following the incident, which was first reported at around 1pm.

Emergency services are at the scene.

All services running between those stations have been suspended, with disruption expected to continue on the line until around 4pm.

A Southern Rail spokesperson said:

"Leave plenty of extra time for your journey this afternoon.

"If you have not yet set off to the station, please travel later on today.

"If you can't delay your journey and need to travel by train now then this will take a lot longer than usual. Rail replacement buses have been requested to run between Horsham and Barnham."

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
