A person has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A259 at Angmering this afternoon (21 December).

The A259 Roundstone By-Pass Road Westbound is reportedly closed, with very slow traffic.

It involved two cars and happened between the A280 Angmering Bypass (Blue Star Roundabout) and Roundstone Lane - in the roadworks area, just outside Haskins Garden Centre.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed they attended the scene.

They added:

"RTC involving two vehicles on the A259 at Angmering reported to us shortly after 2.20pm and we have so far taken one patient to hospital.

"Potentially further patients to be taken to hospital from the scene."

Sussex Police have said a "woman passenger in one of the cars was taken to Worthing Hospital to be treated for head injuries".
