Three police officers charged with dangerous driving

Three police officers will appear at Worthing Magistrates Court on Tuesday (9th February) following a collision in Chilgrove.

PC James Latter, 30, based at Lewes; PC Ahmet Yapicioz, 53, based at Gatwick and PC Alan Harris, 30, based at Lewes were travelling south towards Chichester on their motorbikes at 1.20pm on Saturday 11th July, when two of them crashed with a red Ford Fiesta.

They both suffered multiple injuries, while the driver of the car, an 80-year-old man from Chichester and his female passenger, came away with minor injuries.

All three have been summonsed to court to face the charge of dangerous driving.

PC Yapicioz and PC Harris were also summonsed with driving at a speed exceeding 60 miles an hour.
