Teenagers arrested after fire at Brighton primary school

Police believe the blaze was started deliberately

Police have arrested two teenage boys on suspicion of arson following a fire at a primary school in Brighton.

The 13 and 15-year-olds were detained after fire crews were called to a blaze in the grounds of Carden Primary School in County Oak Avenue at around 7.20pm on Monday (August 7th).

No injuries have been reported.

Sussex Police say they believe the fire was started deliberately, and are conducting investigations alongside East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

A lot of people are thought to have been in the area at the time and police are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity before or after the fire started.

They would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have captured any relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dash cam footage from the surrounding roads.
