UPDATE: Driver dies following collision with police car on A27

The driver of a Porsche has died after crashing into a stationary police car whose crew were helping with a broken-down vehicle on the A27 between Fontwell and Arundel.

The accident happened on the eastbound carriageway near the Fontwell East roundabout at 9.25pm on Monday.

The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "A car, a white Porsche, collided with a stationary police car who was assisting with a broken-down vehicle."

The spokesman appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact the force.
