Sussex Police have released dramatic footage of the moment a drug dealer, caught with thousands of pounds worth of cocaine and heroin, tried to escape.

Devante Bicette was stopped in a hire car in Northgate Avenue in Crawley in July.

The 25-year-old made a run for it when officers searched him.

Bicette, of no fixed address, has been jailed for three years and was banned from driving for two years and four months.

Bicette had four wraps of class A drugs in his underwear and more than £200 in cash in his pockets.

In the car, police found more wraps and packages of drugs including cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin with a street value of up to £18,500.

Inspector Jonathan Hartley said: "Through targeted activity from the specialist enforcement unit, Bicette was detained with a significant amount of Class A drugs.

"Due to the strength of the evidence and quality of our investigation Bicette pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity."
