Weather warning issued for strong winds across South East

The Met Office says gusts of up to 60 mph are possible

Sussex and Kent is in for another battering - as Storm Pierrick heads our way.

A yellow weather warning has been issued for strong winds from 9.00pm tonight (Monday 8th April) until 9.00am tomorrow (Tuesday 9th).

Parts of the South East could be hit with winds of up to 70mph in places.

The warning goes all the along the South Coast.

The Met Office says strong winds are 'likely to bring hazardous coastal conditions and could cause some inland disruption'.

We're warned to expect:

  • Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible

30 flood warnings are also currently in place across the South East.
