Man and woman assaulted in Swindon

A man and a woman were assaulted in Swindon town centre.

It happened around 7pm on Saturday - on New Bridge Square.

The two victims are both aged in their 30 - a man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of ABH and released on bail pending further enquiries.

A verbal altercation is believed to have taken place before the two victims were assaulted.

PC Katey Baker said: “This assault happened in a busy area of Swindon where foot traffic is normally very high. I would really like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw the assault, or anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in or around the area. We take reports of this nature seriously, and one man has been arrested in connection with the incident."
