Three children charged after 74-year-old woman pushed to the ground in Blairgowrie

Police say they will be reported to the Youth Justice Assessor.

Three youths have been charged after social media footage showed a woman being pushed to the ground in Blairgowrie.

A 14-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl have been charged with assault, threatening and abusive behaviour towards the 74-year-old.

Another boy, aged 14, has been charged with threatening and abusive behaviour.

Police Scotland say the woman was not hurt, but "extremely shocked" following the incident on Saturday evening in the Ardblair woods area.

A spokesperson said: "A 14-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl have been charged with assault and threatening and abusive behaviour towards a 74-year-old woman in Blairgowrie.

"The incident happened around 6pm on Saturday, 30 March, 2024 inthe area of Ardblair Woods.

"The woman was unhurt, but extremely shocked by the incident.

"Another 14-year-old boy has been charged with threatening and abusive behaviour.

"They will be reported to the Youth Justice Assessor."

Gary Campbell of Blairgowrie Police Station said: “We would like to thank the local community for their assistance during our enquiries.”
