Man airlifted to hospital from Durham with neck injuries

A part of Durham city centre was closed on this morning (Thursday, June 9) as a man was airlifted to hospital with serious with neck injuries.

Police say a cordon is in place at a property on Margery Lane where the 21-year-old suffered his injuries to allow for an investigation.

He was flown by air ambulance to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.

At this stage police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
