Remains found near Carlisle during search for missing Paul Taylor

Officers were searching in an area near to Carlisle.

As part of Operation Focus - the ongoing investigation relating to missing Annan man, Paul Taylor - officers conducting searches in the area of Finglandrigg Wood off the B5307 in Carlisle have located suspected human remains.

A police presence will be in the area for some time whilst officers continue with their work at the scene.

People are asked to avoid the area to allow this work to continue.

Paul’s family have been informed of developments.

Two men have been charged as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of 56-year-old Paul Taylor.

19-year-old Jack Crawley from Sheehan Crescent in Carlisle was charged with his murder.

19-year-old Marcus Goodfellow, who's from Greystone Road in Carlisle is accused of assisting an offender.

Paul was reported missing in October 2023.
