Coventry City to move back to Ricoh Arena
An agreement has reportedly been struck between the club and the owner of the stadium, Wasps
It's understood Coventry City have secured a deal to return to the Ricoh Arena next season.
Confirmation's expected soon that they've reached a 10-year agreement with owners Wasps.
The Sky Blues have been ground sharing with Birmingham City for the past two campaigns.
It comes after a long-running dispute between the owners of the club and Wasps.
Discussions between the two parties resumed earlier this year and an agreement has finally been reached.
Excitement is building amongst Sky Blues fans as a result.
Joey Crone is from the Coventry City podcast Nii Lamptey, he said: "It's unacceptable to be playing outside of the Ricoh despite the fact we've all become quite used to it over the past 10 years.
"It's worth remembering what the material impact to fans is of playing outside of Coventry.
"Even in our greatest season that we've had in God knows how long, only a miniscule amount of fans were there to watch the games."
There are question marks which remain for now.
One is what it means for Coventry's plans to build a new stadium at the University of Warwick?
The project was announced last summer and whether those plans will be altered because of the 10-year agreement remains to be seen.
The other is the details of the agreement between Coventry and Wasps.
When the Sky Blues revealed they would be playing in Birmingham in the 2020-21 season, a statement by the club claimed Wasps were making requests which were "simply not deliverable."
So it will be curious to see what's included in the fine print.
